Summer 2026 Lessons

The Summer Semester will run from June 13 - September 13, 2026.

Summer Lessons are first-come, first-serve, and are reserved for returning students first due to limited summer availability. Students may book the desired number of lessons for the summer, and schedule ad-hoc as they are available. For more information, visit here.

If you are a new student, please fill out the waitlist form and I will be in touch if a slot opens. I am happy to schedule a trial lesson and meet over the summer in advance of the Fall.

Fall 2026 schedule will be shared by late August.

Lessons with Ms. Catherine are…

  • Centered around the student, building on the skills and interests the student already possesses; balance of student and teacher directed learning and selecting of repertoire

  • Informed by the science of effective practicing and music learning, helping students feel intrinsically motivated to practice at home in a way that helps them feel successful

  • Patient, moving as slowly or quickly as the student would like to progress

  • Focused on developing healthy, sustainable technique and lifelong love of music

  • Inclusive of all learners, including neurodiverse students, adult beginners, and others

  • Taught in my private home studio, equipped with a Yamaha GC1 Baby Grand Piano, centrally located in Downtown Jersey City near Hamilton Park, or in your home (travel rate applies)

About Catherine:

  • Bachelors of Music, Choral Music Education, Piano Principal Focus, Voice Secondary focus, from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance

  • MTNA, MEA NJ, and NJMEA Member

  • Specialized focus and experience working with neurodiverse students, including those on the autism spectrum in the classroom and private music instruction settings

  • Piano training in the Taubman Technique with Sandra Tammam (Montclair State University)

  • Voice training in Bel Canto and classical voice technique, and modern musical theatre styles; my pedagogical focuses include developing and strengthening the head voice, supporting a balanced “mix” and healthy belt
